Susan Hobbs

Susan is from Britain and grew up around the U.K. and in Belgium with Scottish parents. She studied economics and social policy at the University of Leeds. She worked in the private and voluntary sector before doing an M.A. in social work at Goldsmiths, University of London. She worked in central London with the homeless mentally ill client group for 15 years.

In 2004 she moved to Basel with her husband, young son, and baby daughter. As an adopted Londoner, she feels at home in multicultural Gundeli and has become Swiss with her family.

In 2007 she qualified to teach English as a foreign language and has enjoyed teaching groups and private students aged from 4 to 84 ever since. Susan is also a qualified proofreader and Cambridge Examiner.
​
She loves playing tennis, reading, skating, or skiing in her spare time and is attempting to master Schwiizerdüütsch.
